I had my UCLA commencement ceremony this past weekend and I am officially on summer break now – YAY!
The first thing I have done so far this summer was attend Knott’s Berry Farm’s Ghost Town Alive. I had an AMAZING time at Knott’s – as always! 🙂 I am dedicating this blog post to share my own personal experience of attending Ghost Town Alive and to tell you why YOU should too!
WAIT – BUT WHAT IS GHOST TOWN ALIVE?
Ghost Town Alive has returned to Knott’s Berry Farm for another action-packed summer complete with bandits, cowboys, robberies, judges, a good old western hoedown and much more. Guests can visit the beloved town of Calico and experience an authentic western adventure by becoming a star in this summer’s story of the Wild West, where the power to unlock adventures is in the hands of every guest.
My friends and I then decided to go on a couple rides before heading to lunch around noon. We went on one of my favorite swing called the WaveSwinger!
Lunch was held at the Wilderness Dance Hall from 11am-3pm. I decided to be a vegetarian for the day and skip the meat. I took some veggies, soda, cookie, and some strawberries – YUMMY. The Hall was beautifully decorated with flowers, cute red tablecloths, and lights all around the ceiling. I was also able to meet some other people who were sitting at the same table as us which was nice. 🙂
I was honestly so obsessed with the flowers that I could not stop taking photos of it – HAHA. I even saw some people take some flower jars home since they were so pretty and there were a lot around the room. I now wish that I took one home too!
After eating lunch, we attended Snoopy’s Magnificent Magical Revue Show at 1:30pm. The show was super cute and it reminded me of the days I used to watch Snoopy as a kid. I used to like Snoopy so much that my Dad and I both had Snoopy pajamas lol! They did some pretty cool magic tricks, amazing dance performances, and had cool costumes. I definitely recommend attending this show with your family – the kids will love it! The show lasts about 30 minutes or so.
After the show we were walking around the theme park and we stumbled upon my favorite Livery Stable at the Ghost Town area! They had cute horses, donkeys, and sheep there. I always love visiting the stable when I am at Knott’s because you can pet some of the friendly animals. 🙂
We then went on two train rides at Knott’s Berry Farm that we have never been on before – The Calico Railroad and Calico Mine Train Ride. The names both sound similar but they were pretty different from each other.
The Calico Railroad (below) is a big train that takes you through the park and the Calico Mine Train Ride (above) is a smaller train ride that takes you into the mines to show you how it is like to be a miner underground!
We really wanted to go on GhostRider but there was such a long line so we decided to go on other rides such as Silver Bullet, Xcelerator, Montezooma’s Revenge, and Big Foot Rapids. It was SO nice to go on Big Foot Rapids because it was such a hot day – we got splashed on with water hehe YAS! We also played basketball and other fun activities that were located near Xcelerator!
After going on many rides, we decided to take a mini break to eat my favorite – FUNNEL CAKE!!! If you have not tried funnel cakes before then BOY you are missing out. Be sure to try them because they are decliciously yummy!
We then attended the Calico Saloon Show, Wild West Stunt Show, and Circus of Wonders. There was also a swing dance party going on at Calico park which was SO much fun. People were being taught some really FUN moves from the Wild West.
The Wagon Camp show was really cool too because it was showcasing old country music. The men who played the music for the show were so passionate about the music which was nice to see. All the performers and activities were great!
My friends and I had a great time checking out and attending the events at Knott’s Ghost Town Alive throughout the day. I definitely recommend that you check out Ghost Town Alive’s event this summer with your family and friends too!
